About Us

When two firmly established family businesses join forces to form one, the result is over
100 years of combined experience in the decorating and design industry. Both Michael
Fink and David Greenburg had the vision eight years ago to create The New Jersey Decorating Exchange. They provide Interior Designer’s and the Public alike with over 100 years of combined knowledge and resources contained under one roof in New
Jersey. With over 100,000 fabric samples, 1000 wallcovering books, 20,000 carpets from
over 50 manufacturers from around the world and over 100 furniture lines the business
has become a designer’s dream.

In April of 2007 while business for the NJDX was flourishing, a Nor Easter descended on NJ and the building was flooded. It was at this time that the partners took the opportunity to begin again. First, the existing inventory was liquidated. Next, the company added several new product lines to their existing business. And finally a new location in Connecticut was added.

The goal of The Decorating Exchange is to bring the atmosphere and resources of Manhattan’s D&D Building to New Jersey. With over 150 showrooms represented that goal has certainly been accomplished.

All of the major fabric vendors are represented including but not limited to Clarence House, Scalamandre, Brunswig and Fils, Schumacher, and Robert Allen.
Over 20,000 rugs from 50 manufacturers around the world are represented.
Additionally you can find major vendors such as Hunter Douglas, Karastan and many more. A Royal Pedic mattress center was added, as well as luxury linens including lines from Sferra and Anichini. Wood flooring is now available, and antiques from all over the world have been added. Classic Sofa, voted “best of the best” by House and Garden magazine has become a part of the company.
